In this study, modeling and simulation works have been performed using mono-ethanol amine (MEA) aqueous solution to remove CO2 contained in the natural gas stream.Amine special thermodynamic package built-in PROM with PROVISION release 8.3,a general purpose chemical process simulator was used to model the overall acid gas removal process.A suitable solvent to feed ratio in a CO2 absorber has been determined to absorb most of CO2 contained in the natural gas feed stream and to fix the lean solvent circulation rate.Optimum feed tray location that could minimize the CO2 stripper column reboiler heat duty and CO2 loading in a lean solvent have been determined.
