Hinckdentine A (1) is a marine alkaloid consisting ofa seven-membered ring fused to a tribromo[1,2-c]quinazoline motif.Although the challenging structure of hinckdentine A has attracted much attention from the synthetic sommunitiy, only one total synthesis has been reported to date.[1] We have achieved the construction of the seven-membered ring by the double amination from the dimesylate, which was applied to the development of the novel synthetic route to 1.
