The methods and mechanism in toughening modification ofbismaleimide(BMI) resin were reported.The characteristics and modifying effects of the main methods were reviewed ,such as ally compounds modifying, binary amine modifying, the combination of epoxy resin , high performance thermoplastic resin modifying and cyanate ester resin and so on.Besides, the new advancement and the development tendency about toughening modification ofbismaleimide(BMI) resin in the word were discussed in the paper.
