  Ultrasonic transducer backing materials need to possess a very high attenuation coefficient and variable acoustic impedances according to the required bandwidth.Such materials are generally manufactured by mixing a polymer material and particles of glass or metals with high densities.The acoustic impedance of these materials becomes higher as the volume ratio of particles increases.Meanwhile,the attenuation in this kind of material decreases and becomes relatively low.
