There is strong regional character associated with innovation.Innovation processes in different regions within the same nation often diverge.At the core are metropolitan innovation ecosystems or regional learning networks comprised of private and public sector actors interacting to create local institutions and relationships.There are also a number of notable instances where universities have supplied the crucial underpinnings of dynamic industrial clusters within metropolitan regions.
