For high-speed electrical trains, one of the key operations is current collection. This task is accomplished by using a pantograph mounted on the roof of the locomotive. The pantograph head contacts with the catenary and electrical power is transferred from the catenary to the train.However.as the train speed increases, the vibration of the pantograph and catenary also increases. This may lead to contact loss between the pantograph and catenary, which may result in arcing and wear.
