In nature, soft structures, such as protein assemblies, can organize reversibly into functional and often hierarchical architectures through noncovalent interactions.Encoding this dynamic capability in synthetic materials has remained an elusive goal.I will illustrate how, through a combination of experiments and computational modeling,we have realized remarkable structures. Moreover,I will highlight how general principles for supramolecular assembly can be derived from computer simulations.
