The palladium(Ⅱ) catalyzed alternating copolymerization of olefins with carbon monoxide is of great current interest due to the low monomer costs, the potential photodegradation of the copolymers, and the presence of carbonyl groups in the polymer backbone that lend themselves to further functionalyzation.
