Carbon dioxide separation from dilute gas streams can be achieved with an array of technologies including membrane separation, absorption into liquids and adsorption on solids.The design of sorbent materials that selectively remove CO2 from dilute streams is amid a renaissance of sorts, owing to the increased awareness of the impact of anthropogenic CO2 on climate change and the concomitant motivation to remove it from flue gas streams[1].
