Inorganic two-dimensional nanomaterials, especially for the atomic-thickness ultrathin nanosheets, entail more controllable structural parameters for regulating their electronic structure that is vital for energy and catalytic applications. Here, we will survey chemical synthesis and assembly methodologies for some cases of two-dimensional nanomaterials such as transition-metal chalcogenides and oxides ultrathin nanosheets.
