Aim: To investigate the effect of paeoniflorin (Pae) on the apoptosis in human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells and its mechanism.Methods: Cells apoptosis was determined by flow cytometric analysis.The protein expression of B-cell CLL/lymphoma 2 (Bcl-2), p53, caspase-3 and shh, Gli-1 of hedgehog/Gli signaling pathway in HepG2 and Bel-7402 was examined by Western blot analysis.
