Verticillium dahliae is a necrotrophic fungus that causes serious soil-borne vascular disease (Verticillium wilt) in cotton.Previous studies demonstrated that JA signaling plays an important role in cotton resistance to V.dahliae.Here, we show that GhHB12 participates in the regulation of JA signaling and the response to V.dahliae.GhHB12 was preferentially expressed in root, and its expression wasinduced by MeJA, wounding and Verticillium dahliae infection.GhHB12 encoded a HD-ZIP I homologous transcription factor with transactivation activity.
