The vulnerability of the Pra River Basin (23,000 km2) to water stress conditions under climate change was assessed for two future time slices (2006-2035 and 2036-2065) represented by the years 2020 and 2050, respectively, using the Falkenmark indicator (water stress index).This indicator defines thresholds of 1700, 1000 and 500 m3 per capita per year as water stress, water scarcity and absolute scarcity conditions, respectively.The assessment was limited to surface water yield only due to lack of adequate information on the groundwater resource.
