  The combination of watershed management with administrative management was carried out in China for water resources management.Aquatic ecoregions have been gradually accepted as spatial units for aquatic ecosystem management at the watershed scale.Existing approaches for aquatic ecoregion delineation were generally based on administrative division and ignored the ecosystem integrity and ecological corridor connectivity of river basins,which seriously hindered the integrated management at the watershed scale.
