Ionic conjugated polyelectrolytes (CPEs) have established themselves as an optical platform in chemical-and biological sensors with high sensitivity by virtue of their light harvesting properties.1-3 A new potassium ion detection assay was developed using a dye-labeled aptamer and CPE as a signaling platform via 1-step and 2-step fluorescence resonance energy transfer.
