Prostate cancer (PC) is the most common malignancy afflicting North American men with a lifetime risk of 1 in 6.The majority of prostate cancers diagnosed nowadays are localized and potentially curable.Image-guided prostate brachytherapy (i.e.implantation of radioactive seeds into the prostate gland) is an established treatment option for localized PC.
