Objective:To discuss how to properly select additional filtration in whole cerebral arteriography ,by comparsion of imaging quality and radiation dose. Method:1. PHILIPS Allura Xper FD20 arteriography machine was used ,select different additional filtration(0.1 mmCu+1mmAl; 0.4 mmCu+1mmAl;0.9 mmCu+1mmAl)in the mode of single exposion. Pictures were taken of rectangular wave testing card,one picture was acqusited. All imagings were analysed by two chief radiologists, one aid-radiology technic an one superior engineer. 2. 90 patients were selected continuously according to the same standard,and patients were randomly divided into three groups according to different additional filtration, group A (with additional filtration value of 0.1 mmCu+1mmAl ),group B (with additional filtration value of 0.4 mmCu+1mmAl ) and group C (with additional filtration value of 0.9 mmCu+1mmAl ).Routine whole brain arteriography were taken place ,the DAP、AK value、Kv、mAs and total number of frame were recorded while anterioposterior and lateral angiographic sequence were taken when the acquisition filed was 31 cm. Results:1.Rectangular wave test card display value showed 2.0Lp/mm, with 0.9mmCu+1mmAl and 0.1mmCu+1mmAl additional filtration; Rectangular wave test card display value showed 2.2Lp/mm, with 0.4mmCu+1mmAl.2.Image scores of group A,B and C were 3.79,3.5,2.85, group A and B effect of additional filtration on the image quality was not significant (P = 0.124), the image quality of group C with respect to the filtration of the first two decreased(P=0.000,P=0.001). 3.The additional filtration Cu thickness of group A,B and C increase 0.1mm to 0.4mm,0.9mm, when conventional anteroposterior the radiation dose of group B and C were reduced by approximately 24.7% and 59.7% with respect to group A; when conventional lateral the radiation dose of group B and C were reduced by approximately 59.5% and 73.2% with respect to group A. Conclusion:If0.4 mmCu+1mm were selected when PHIHPS Allura Xper FD20 arteriography machine were utilized in whole cerebral arteriography,not only the quality of imagings were ensured,but also the radiology doses of the patients were decreased.
