Background Thyroid cancer has become one of the most common cancers.Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) accounts for more than 90% of thyroid cancers.Up to 30-50% of PTC patients showed lymph node metastasis when diagnosed and lymph node metastasis has been associated with poor prognosis. However, the molecular mechanism of PTC metastasis is still unknown.Tumor-associated macrophage (TAM) is one of the most important cellular components in the tumor microenvironment, playing an important role in promoting tumor metastasis.
