Mammography based Breast cancer screening is associated with a reduction in population related breast cancer mortality between 20-29%.Though this speaks of success story in the western developed countries, existing population based data from the developing countries like India does not support the reproducibility of such a program.The inherent problems are infrastructural lacunae, economic viability of such a program and finally intrinsic biological beheviour.
