Solid-state weather radar transmitters offer the potential for increased reliability and maintainability,which have been proven extremely important for practical use.Though it has been used in applications for years, solid-state transmitters cannot produce the high peak power available from klystrons.Pulse compression technique allows for low peak-power transmission by transmitting long pulses, and improves the range resolution and detection sensitivity on the receiving end of radar system.However, under increasing pulses length, the radars detection blind zone will be expanded influencing the near range detection of weather targets.
