Activated corrosion products(ACPs)in the cooling loops are the dominant radioactive source in water-cooled reactors and have great influence on shielding design,personnel protection,and consequences of nuclear accidents.ACPs originate from the neutron activation of corrosion products(CPs).Generally speaking,CPs are the oxides of the metal elements in the structural material.In this paper,a chemical equilibrium model was developed to calculate the speciation and solubilities of CPs in different temperature,pH,hydrogen and oxygen concentration,which was programmed as a water chemistry module and incorporated into the ACPs source term analysis code CATE.Then based on the example of MIT PWR coolant chemistry loop(PCCL),the influence of solubilities on CPs and ACPs transport in the cooling loops was simulated and analyzed with CATE code,which showed that the calculation results can be obviously improved when using the real solubilities of the oxides instead of just using the solubility of iron as in earlier codes for simplicity.
