Liquid lead(Pb)-bismuth(Bi)eutectic(LBE)is a promising candidate as coolant in the accelerator driven nuclear system(ADS),but it will result in degradation of iron-based structure materials due to the liquid metal corrosion.To mitigate the liquid metal corrosion,oxygen control technology has been developed to form a protective layer of iron-chromium spinel on the steel surface.However,experiments have shown abundant corrosion phenomena in the ADS condition,such as oxidation corrosion,dissolution and penetration of Pb and Bi etc.In this talk,well theoretically investigate the dissolution processes of liquid metal on the magnetic oxide(Fe3O4)and iron surfaces,and diffusion behavior of Pb or Bi atoms in the bulk of Fe3O4,iron-chromium spinel and iron,based on the first-principles calculations.
