The corrosion inhibition of mild steel (45#) in 3% HCl solution by fluconazole has been studied by weight loss measurement and electrochemical test. The results showed that the inhibition efficiency increased with increasing the concentration of fluconazole in the low level, while it decreased with increasing the concentration when the concentration was too high. The inhibition efficiency of fluconazole reached up to 90% when the concentration was about 650mg/L.Polarization curve indicated that fluconazole can inhibit both anodic and cathodic processes of the corrosion reaction.Adsorption of fluconazole in 3%HCl solution on mild steel surface was a spontaneous process which obeys Langmuir isotherm, and both physisorption and chemisorption take place on the surface.
