The Influence of Lower Alcohol to the VLE of 1,8-cineole and Alpha-pinene

　　Eucalyptus is a kind of nature essential oil.There are more than thirty components in it and its main component is 1,8-cineole.High purity 1,8-cineole has high medicinal value and commercial value[1,2].But it is not easy to get a product with purity above 99%.The vapour and liquid equilibria (VLE) is a kind of important basic data to support rectification.In this paper the VLE of 1,8-cineole and alpha-pinene at an operating pressure of 50mbar was measured.The result was well conformed to which was calculated by COSMO thermX.It has been reported that a kind of alcohol was put into this system to assist the separation [3].The VLE of 1,8-cineole and alpha-pinene with a certain amount of 1,2-propanediol,1,3-propanediol,1,2-butanediol,1,3-butanediol,and 2,3-butanediol were measured as well.The tie-lines were compared and the influence of these alcohols were analysed.2,3-butanediol was found to be the optional assistant.These basic data can guide the commercial production.
