Magnetic field analysis of double reverse pancake coils used in high-voltage DC RSFCL

  The non-inductive coil is normally used in the design of resistive type superconducting fault current limiter (RSFCL).The non-inductive coil has a big defect that the voltage drop of the outlet port is very big,so it is hard to make a non-inductive coil with very large capacity.Using the way of multi-group of small coil series-paralleled will increase a lot of connectors.Once they produce joint resistance,it will have an obvious influence on the superconducting material,and the influence is very unfavorable for the stability of RSFCL.The high-voltage DC RSFCL won't produce AC loss at work,but the magnetic field produced by it can affect the ability of withstanding the current impacts.In this paper,a novel coil configuration of RSFCL has been proposed and designed based on this characteristic of High-voltage DC RSFCL.
