Irradiation of molecules with intense ultra-short laser pulses can give rise to dissociative ionization.The molecule will be tunneling ionized followed by a subsequent fragmentation of the created parent ion.The recently developed molecular tunneling ionization theory (MO-ADK) predicts that this tunneling ionization rate is angle-dependent [1].
