A quasi-optical mode converter consisting of a launcher with a helical cut,a quasi-elliptical mirror, two parabolic mirrors and a plane mirror has been developed for a TE6,2 mode,94GHz high power gyrotron. Both the theoretical and simulation results reveal that the fundamental Gaussian mode content of the output beam is about 97.2%at the window plane.Further investigate has been done to improve the mode content and convert efficiency of the output beam from the plane mirror and to decrease the stray radiation in the tube.A phase correcting mirrors have been designed instead of the plane mirrors. The simulation results show that with the specific phase correcting mirrors, the fundamental Gaussian mode content of the beam can be enhanced at the output window plane.
