Object To perform a meta-analysis exploring the correlation between liver histology and magnetic resonance imaging in assessing liver fat content.Material and Methods We search medical and scientific literature databases for studies discussing the correlation between liver histology and magnetic resonance imaging in assessing liver fat content.Only studies published prior to April 2016 were considered for inclusion.Summary correlation coefficient(r)value were extracted from each study,and 94%confidence intervals(CIs)were calculated after applying Fishers z transformation.For subgroup analysis,studies were classified by the index of MRI result,the index of histology result,angle of flip,range of liver fat content,field strength,number of echoes in MRI sequence and spectral modeling of fat.
