Understanding the composition and changes of nutrients in sediments and soil could supply better description for sedimentation and environmental process. In this study, both soil from source (Ss) of Dan River and the sediment along the river (China) were sampled.Particle size distribution (PSD) of sediment and soil, which were grouped into<0.05mm,0.05-0.15mm,0.15-0.25mm,0.25-0.5mm,0.5-1.0mm and 1.0-2.0mm,were analyzed, together with the total nitrogen (TN),total organic carbon (TOC) and the ratio of C/N.The dominant particle size of Ss was <0.05mm while the sediments have no obvious dominant partilces.
