The erosion of The Loess Plateau could be regarded as one kind of representation of the huge complex system, which is the landform of topography.Complexities of the system in the macro-level are emerged through the collective behavior of the numerous interacting components. The complexity of the real world is well reflected in an idealized nonlinear system called Cellular Automata (CA) which is quite sensitive of the initialization and it may lead to an inestimable result just because of the tiny differences of the initial sets.So far, among the current studies of soil erosion using Cellular Automata, few people concerned about the cell size of the initial conditions of the models. However, under that premise that in many studies the rationality of initialization is not seriously considered,it is quite possible to come to the conclusion with large deviations from the fact.Laser scanning is used in an indoor artificial rainfall condition for obtaining the original point cloud.
