Inflammatory arthritides including rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and psoriatic arthritis are complex disorders.Although the precise pathophysiology of these disorders is still unknown, we believe that it involves the interplay between genetic and environmental factors.Class Ⅱ major histocompatibilityantigens/human leukocyte antigens,as well as non-HLA genes have been implicated in the pathogenesis of these inflammatory arthritides.Interestingly, HLA and some non-HLA genes also predispose susceptible individuals to the development of autoimmunity from certain environmental factors.
