The study of dosimetric characteristics of TLD2000 thermoluminescent dosimeter

  Purpose To investigate the dosimetric characteristics of TLD2000 thermoluminescent dosimeter(TLD).Methods 350 TLD2000 TLDs were screened to have the same sensitivity within ±3.0%.TLDs were irradiated to evaluate the response repeatability and dose rate effect using 6 MV X-rays and I-125 seed.TLDs were irradiated to different doses using 137Cs(662 keV γ-rays),125I seed and 6 MV X-rays,to evaluate the dose response of the TLDs.TLDs were irradiated to the same dose using 125I seed,137Cs,48,65,83,118,250 keV and 6 MV X-rays,to study the energy response of the TLDs.Results The maximum deviations of the repeatability were 2.7%and 4.0%for 6 MV X-rays and 125I seed,respectively.No dose rate effects were observed for TLD2000 TLDs.The dose response of TLDs for 137Cs and 125I seed were linear.For 6 MV X-rays,the linear response range was 0.74-10.0 Gy.The dose response became supralinear when the irradiated dose was beyond 10.0 Gy.The energy response for 125I seed,48,65,83,118,250 keV and 6 MV X-rays,relative to the energy response of 137Cs were 1.70,1.25,1.08,0.99,0.91,0.96 and 1.22,respectively.Conclusions TLD2000 TLD has good repeatability and linear dose response for 137Cs,125I seed and 6 MV X-rays without dose rate effect,but the dose response is energy dependent.
