Eastern and Middle Europe consists of countries, each of which has different sociodemographic and socioeconomic characteristics, different cultural, legal, social and health care system-related traditions and different psychopathological traditions. All of these factors have been shown to complicate the conduct of uniform research studies, health promotion strategies, preventing actions and clinical care for older people.Collaboration on national and international level seems to have high priority in order to jointly establish and promote new directions in elderly health care.
