Control of Ganoderma spp.Causing of Basal StemRot Disease in Oil Palm

  Control of Ganoderma spp.causing of Basal Stem Rot (BSR) in oil palm was studied in both of chemical and biological control.To study the efficiency of chemical agent, three fungicides: Therachlor, Metalaxyl and Tridermorph at the concentration between 0.1-500 mg/L were used for test.The results showed that Tridermorph at the concentration of 500 mg/L showed the best suppression the growth and development of Ganoderma spp.mycelium with the diameter as 0.76 cm.and following with Therachlor with the diameter as 2.68 cm.To study the efficiency of chitisan to suppression the growth and development of Ganoderma spp.mycelium, chitisan at the concentration between 0.1-10 percentages were used for test.Chitosan at the concentration of 10 percentages showed trendy suppression the growth and development of Ganoderma spp.mycelium.To study the efficiency of Trichoderma harzianum, pure cultured and commercial T.harzianum were used for test.The results showed that T.harzianum from both of places showed suppression of growth and development Ganoderma spp.Mycelium at 54.82 and 40.22 percentages, respectively.Seven types of herbal extract consist of Acorus calamus L.(10%w/v), Tagetes erecta L.(20%w/v), Syzygium aromaticum L.(10%w/v), Tradescantia spathacea Steam(10%w/v), Aglaia odorata Lour.(10%w/v), Walsura trichostemon Miq (20%w/v)and Jusminum officinale L.(30%w/v) were observed of suppression the growth and development of Ganoderma spp.mycelium at the concentration between 10-5000 mg/L.The results showed that Aglaia odorata Lour.at the concentration of 5000 mg/L showed the best suppression the growth and development of Ganoderma spp.mycelium with the diameter as 0.98 cm.
