Objective:To explore the significance and to find the reliable methods to protect and reconstruct the function of the rotator cuff of the shoulder joint after the joint replacement.Methods:15 cases were selected,4 males and 11 females,36 ~75 years old (average 57.3±4.8 years).5 cases were severe proximal humeral fracture and replaced with hemi~ arthroplasty for 3cases,bipolar for 1 case,total joint replacement for 1 case.10 cases were proximal humeral tumor,5/10 of osteo~giant~cytoma,4/10 of osteosarcoma,1 / 10 of metastasis cancer.9/10 replaced with custom made prosthesis,1/10 with bipolar prosthesis.Post~ operation follow~ up were from 2 month to 9 years,averaging 4.6 years.
