The impact of the jet flow rate (υ) of electrolyte on the cathode polarization potential (ηc) and the microstructure of deposit has been studied by measuring the cathode polarization curve and observing the microstructure. It was found that the polarization potential decreased and the microstructure refined when the flow rate of the electrolyte increased. At the current density of 80 A·dm-2,when the jet flow rate increased from 1.00 L/min to 5.90 L/min,the cathode potential decreased from 1.840 V to1.542 V (vs SCE),and the grain size reduced from 22.6 nm to 18.9 nm.The results indicated that the nickel jet electrodeposition is mixed kinetics and mass transport controlled.
