Carbon fiber reinforced polyamide 6 composites were prepared by LFT-D process, and anisotropic mechanical properties were studied via evaluating tensile and flexural properties as a variation of sampling positions. The effect of maleated poly(ethylene-1-octene) and Zinc ionomer content on their impact performance were also examined.Izod impact and high speed puncture impact test were performed and the results were compared to each other.Residual fiber length and orientation were investigated by optical microscopy after high temperature ashing of the surface of specimens.Fracture surface of the impacted samples was analyzed by FE-SEM to investigate failure modes.
