Wound healing is a complex process involving an integrated response by many different cell types and growth factors in order to achieve rapid restoration of skin architecture and function. In the study, novel alginate composite fiber were prepared as a wound dressing.Scanning electron microscopy analysis was used to characterize composite fiber morophology.L-929 cells were used to assess the cytotoxicity of the composite fiber, cell morophology were examined by microscopy.Due to the morophology of cells showed not significantly different from negative control group, the viability studies showed that the composite fiber wound dressings are noncytotoxic.
