As an effective,selective and non-invasive therapy with minimal damages to healthy tissues,PDT has attracted increasing attention in cancer therapy.Tetra-carboxyl phthalocyaninato zinc(ZnPcC4)is a potent,near-infrared and hydrophobic photosensitizer.It suffers by serious aggregation tendency in aqueous solution,thus limiting its use in photodynamic cancer therapy.To improve solubility and to reduce aggregation,ZnPcC4 was conjugated to a third-generation polyamidoamine dendrimer with amino end group(G3-PAMAM-NH2),as a novel photodynamic therapy(PDT)drug carrier system.
