ADAMTS9, a member of the large family of 19 metalloproteases, was ubiquitously detected in all human fetal and adult tissues.Recent studies have revealed that ADAMTS9 is a tumor suppressor inactivated by aberrant promoter methylation in esophageal and nasopharyngeal carcinomas, while nothing is known about its role and alterations in breast cancer pathogenesis.In this study, we analyzed ADAMTS9 expression and methylation status in breast cancer cell lines and tumor tissues.
