Objective: To examine the expression of full-length spleen tyrosine kinase (Syk) mRNA and protein in human oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and normal oral mucosa tissues, and to assess its effects on the invasion and metastasis of OSCC.Methods:The expression of syk (L) was detected in 23 cases of OSCC tissues (14 in 23 with lymph node metastasis,9 in 23 without lymph node metastasis) and its matched adjacent non-cancerous tissues by real-time quantitive PCR,western blot and immunohistochemistry.The total of 14 cases of normal oral mucosa tissues were also analysed as a normal control.
