　　Prostaglandin E2(PGE2)is well established as a central effector of pyrogen fever,which is synthetized by the cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2)/microsomal prostaglandin E synthase-1(mPGES1)complex.The neurons in the lateral parabrachial nucleus(LPB)are reported to be activated by PGE2 during immune challenge induced by lipopolysaccharide(LPS).
