Numerous investigators have identified that it is impossible to repair the completely transected spinal cord and to restore the com-plete loss of the motor function caused by secondary spinal cord injury.Only if the right innervations of supraspinal structures to the interneuron control units within the central pattern generation (CPG) in the lower spinal cord are re-established,can we repair the spinal cord injury.However,how to re-establish the right innertvation remains poorly understood.It is well known that the dorsal root nerve fibers from muscle spindle and tendon spindle enter the posterior horn of spinal cord and innervate the interneurons of CPG within ipsilateral lamina Ⅲ-Ⅶ of grey matter,and the intercostal nerves deliver motor information from the spinal cord.
