In this paper, a series of Na2O-CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 system glasses prepared with different Al2O3/SiO2 ratios following similar compositions to the soda-lime-silicate float glasses is proposed to possess more excellent physical-chemical properties.The structures of the glasses were studied by IR and density test.The investigation of the Al2O3/SiO2 ratio on the performance was carried out by bending strength tests, linear dilatometry and chemical durability tests in aqueous and alkaline environments.The change in structure and properties of Na2O-CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 system glasses with increasing the Al2O3/SiO2 ratio was analyzed.
