Cryoimmunotherapy is a new low toxicity approach to immunotherapy of metastatic cancer now in clinical testing in the USA in patients with refractory metastatic disease, including advanced breast cancer patients.Metastatic breast cancer disease is considered incurable.Current treatment approaches include hormone therapy, chemotherapy and targeted therapies.Survival in metastatic breast cancer has barely improved despite new therapeutic agents developed in these categories over the past decade.These current approaches provide limited survival advantage at the cost of decreased quality of life due to high toxicity.In addition, breast cancer patients often suffer from bone metastases,which is another major source of morbidity due to the resulting pain, pathological fractures and hypercalcemia.Current treatments for bone metastasis are mostly palliative.
