Research of improving oxidation resistance of carbon aerogel composites by pyrolysis SiCO inner coat

  To modify the oxidative-resistantability of carbon fiber reinforced carbon aerogelthermal insulators, Si-C-Oprecursor sol was prepared with dimethyldiethoxylsilane (DMDES) and methyltrimethoxysilane (MTMS) as raw materials.Carbon aerogel compositewas impregnated with the SiCO sol, after gelation, aging, solvent exchange, drying and pyrolysis, inner Si-C-O coating was deposited in the carbon aerogel composites, repeating the cycle for anti-oxidationcompositeswith different integrationtimes.Results show that, after integration three times, density increases from 0.20 g/cm3 to 0.77g/cm3and thermalconductivity rises from 0.11 W/m·K to 0.33W/m.K at 25℃.After 1600℃ 20min heat treatment in air, weight lossof composites obtained by integrating three times is 10.33%, with a linear shrinkage of 1.16%.It indicates that infiltrating organic silicon sol and carbonizingto form coatingin nano-porous carbon aerogel composites can improve the oxidation resistanceevidently.
