Temporal lobe epilepsy is one of the most common chronic neurological diseases.Imbalance the excitatory or inhibitory neurotransmitter release or disregulation of voltage-gated ion-channels supposed to be impetus for the seizure development. On the other hand.it was demonstrated that extracellular signal-regulated kinases 1 and 2 (ERK1/2) also participate in seizure devclopment. In our work we studied the effects of ERK1/2 inhibition by SL327 on seizure progression in the Krushinsky-Molodkina (KM) audiogenic seizure rats. The KM rats display generalized tonus-clonus seizures in response to intense sound stimulation.
