BACKGROUND: Noninvasive positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV) has been widely used in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) complicated with acute respiratory failure.This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of NIPPV in the treatment of acute respiratory failure due to COPD complicated with multi-pneumatocele.
