Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) is an emerging hemorrhagic fever in China and it is caused by SFTSV,a newly discovered phlebovims in the Bunyaviridae family.The Haemaphysalis longicornis tick has been suspected to be the vector of SFTSV.In this study we demonstrated that H.longicornis acquired SFTSV from infected mice and transmitted SFTSV transstadially and transovarially.
