Background The prognosis of gastric adenocarcinoma (GAC) remains dismal due to poor tumor response to chemoand radiotherapy.In vitro and in vivo studies using gastric carcinoma cell lines have shown that the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) inhibitor, can inhibit tumor growth and that the extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) of the Ras/Raf kinase pathway is related to chemoresistance.We examined the state of activation of components of mTOR, Ras/Raf kinase, and nuclear factor (NF)-κB signal transduction pathways, as well as cell-cycle protein analyte correlates in GAC.
